Beliefs about Malaaikah (Angels)

  • Angels are unseen creation of Allaah , in their real form.
  • Angels of Allaah  are created from noor (Light). They have been empowered by their Lord  to adopt different appearances. They have appeared in the form of human beings among other appearances as mentioned in the Holy Quraan and Ahaadeeth.
  • They are totally obedient to Allaah .They cannot disobey their Lord the Creator , willfully, in forgetfulness nor by error. They are innocent slaves of Allaah  and free from all major and minor sins.
  • Many Angels are appointed for specific duties. Jibraeel  is the messenger who conveyed the Wahee (Revelation) from Allaah  to His Prophets and Messengers. Meekaaeel  is in charge of Rain. Kiramun Katibeen are a pair of Angels assigned to each human being and are entrusted to record their good and bad deeds. Munkar and Nakeer are the questioning Angels who arrive soon after the dead body is buried to question the dead person about his/her beliefs, ‘Izraeeel  is the Angel of Death. Israfeel  is the Angel who will sound the trumpet the first time to commence the Day of Judgement, destruction of the world, death of all human beings and the second time to commence resurrection. Some are in charge of the wind, some in charge of provision, some in charge of giving shape to the face of the child in the womb of the mother, some who protect human beings from harm, some who search for assemblies of Dhikr of Allaah , some who are stationed at the blessed grave of the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad , some whose only job is to convey to him the Salaat & Salaam sent to him  by the members of his Ummah, some are in charge of punishment of the grave and some in charge of punishment in the Hell Fire etc. etc.
  • Angels are neither males nor females.
  • The number of Angels in existence is only known to their Creator .
  • To use even the slightest of derogatory language towards the Angels is Kufr.
  • To deny the existence of Angels or to believe they are some form of good energy only, both is Kufr.

Belief about Jinns

  • Jinns are also unseen creation of Allaah , in their real form.
  • Jinns have been created from fire. Some of them have been given the power to take on different appearances and can become visible to human beings in these forms. Their life span is very long. Rebellious among them are called Shiateen, plural of Shaitaan. Like human beings, they are intelligent and are endowed with bodies and souls. They eat and drink and live and die.
  • Among Jinns there are muslim Jinns and Kaafir Jinns. Kuffaar Jinns are much more in number then Kuffaar human beings. Among their muslims some are pious, some are rebellious. The number of rebellious Jinns is many times more than the rebellious muslim humans.
  • To deny their existence or to believe they are just evil energy is Kufr.

To be continued Inshaallah Ta’laa.

VIRTUES OF EVERY DAY D’UAAS

When Waswasah (doubt) appears in your ‘Amaal (Wudoo, Salaat, Dhikr etc.)

Hadrat Uthmaan Bin Abil ‘Aas narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: when doubts appear in your ‘Amaal (such as, is the wudoo broken, have I washed 3 times, have I missed anything in the salaat etc. ..etc..) the one who gives this waswasah is the Shaitaan, which is called Khanzab. The person should recite 3 times

Transliteration: A’oodu Billaahi Minash Shaitaanir Rajeem.

Translation: “I Seek Protection in Allaah from the accursed Shaitaan”. And turn to his left and make sounds of spitting.

(Muslim, Hasan Haseen, Tarteeb Shareef page 505)

When you attend a gathering and when you leave it

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: when a person enters a gathering he should greet by saying:

Transliteration: Assalaamu ‘Alaikum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuhoo.

Translation: “Peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allaah and His Grace”.

And he should sit down if he wants to. He should say the same when he departs.

(Aboo Dawood, Tirmidhee, Nisaai, Tarteeb Shareef page 505.)

When leaving a gathering

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: The expiation of a gathering is that a person before departure should recite:

Transliteration: Subhaanallaahi Wa Bihamdihee Subhanakallaa Humma Wa Bihamdika Ash hadu Al Laa Ilaaha illaa anta Astaghfiruka Wa Atoobu ilaik.

Translation: “Glorified is Allaah & praises are for Him. Dearest Allaah and praises be to You. I bear witness that there is no God but You, I seek Your forgiveness and return to You”.

(Aboo Dawood and Ibn Haban have narrated that above should be recited 3 times.)

When you go to the Bazaar (Shopping Malls)

Hadrat ‘Umar  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said : Any person who goes to the Bazaar should recite:

Transliteration: “Laa Ilaaha Illallaahu Wahdahoo Laa Shareeka Lahoo Lahulmulku Wa Lahul Hamdu Yuhyee Wa Yumeetu Wa Huwa Hayyul Laa Yamootu Biadihil Khair. Wa Huwa ‘Alaa Kulli Shayin Qadeer”.

Translation: “There is no God but Allaah , the Only One, without any partners. His is the Kingdom, for Him are all praises. He gives life and He gives death and He is Truly Alive without Death and in His Hands is good and He has power over every thing”.

(When this is recited) Allaah Tabarak Wa Ta’alaa writes for him/her (in the Book of Accounts) 1 million good deeds, forgives I million sins and increases 1 million stations.

(Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, Ahmed) “and makes a palace for him/her in Paradise” (This is added on in Tirmidhee, Hasan Haseen, Tarteeb Shareef page 508.)

When you return from the Bazaar

Hadrat Ibn ‘Abbaas  has narrated that the most Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulanaa Muhammad  has said: “O businessmen, is any one of you incapable of Reciting 10 Aayahs of the Holy Quraan upon returning from the Bazaar, for Allaah writes one good deed for you as a reward for every Aayah (At Tabraanee, Hasan Haseen, Tarteeb Shareef page 510)

My Beloved readers and jewels of my eyes, please do not miss the unbounded love and concern the Beloved of my soul Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has shown for all of us from his Ummah by leaving behind invaluable treasures of Duaas & Practices for us. As we proceed with these Duaas, keep reminding yourselves that there is hardly an occasion for which he  has not left a Duaa for us, converting simple deeds like going and coming back from the Bazaar to become worship of Allaah Almighty and making us recipients of unbelievable rewards in the Hereafter! This is how we can turn our days and entire lives into the Sunnah of the most Beloved of Allaah , Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad . These are the very deeds which make us loved by Him in whose hands our Life and Death is and receive salvation from the Owner of the Day of Judgment. May our lives be sacrificed for his most Beloved , our tongues in constant Durood for him  and in constant Dhikr of the Lord of the Universe and our bodies, minds and souls busy for ever with only those deeds which are approved by Him: the Sunnah of his most Beloved , Ameen, Ameen again.

Beloved jewels of my eyes, by the Grace & Mercy of Allaah the most Merciful, the Treasure which is the Hereafter for the Mumineen is available to you through the virtues contained in “The Virtues Of Islamic Life”. Treasure these issues, file them, go back to them and read them frequently, practice these virtuous deeds in your life and you will find by His Blessings showered upon those who strive to reach Him, your Imaan soaring and your hearts filled with the gift of love bestowed upon you by the One Who created you for the One Who is the Most Beneficent and the Most Generous and for the one He loves the most, Hadrat Muhammad  Inshaallah Ta’laa.

VIRTUES OF PURIFICATION (Tazkiatun Nafs) Continued

Dhikrullaah, Jihaad ul Akbar

My beloved readers, by the grace of Allaah  we are back to this subject, which is vital to those of us whose goal is Allaah  and His Grand Paradise. The point has been made clearly that the seat of our beliefs is our Qalb (spiritual heart), as it is also the seat of our emotions. If this vital organ is contaminated with lusts, greed, arrogance, vanity, anger, rancor, hatred, love for the world and its possessions, fear, anxieties about provision, the quality of our Eemaan is going to be very poor, resulting in some very serious problems such as: great difficulty in willingly submitting to the laws of Allaah , and adopting our life style according to the Sunnah of His Beloved . This unfortunately guarantees chaos in this life and Hell fire in the next.

It is not difficult therefore to understand why Allaah  in His Quraan and His Beloved Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  have emphasized over & over again that our heart MUST be purified off its spiritual diseases listed above, in order to have a peaceful life on this earth in blissful surrender to the Will of the Lord of the Universe and attain His magnificent Eternal rewards in Paradise.

The most significant activity and the first step one can take to embark upon the program of purification is to do the Dhikr of Allaah  and gradually develop the frequency with the aim to reach levels of profusion and abundance with unfailing regularity. Let us see what has Allaah  Himself and His Beloved Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa

Maulaanaa Muhammad  have to say about this healing process. (Dhikr)

Transliteration: Wa La Dhikrullaahi Akbar.

Translation: And the Dhikr of Allaah is the Greatest. (Soorah Al’Ankaboot Aayah # 45)

Transliteration :Wa Yahdee Ilaihi Man Anaaba Alladheena Aamanoo Wa Tatmainnu Quloobuhum Bidhikrillaah. Alaa Bidhikrillaahi Tatmainnul Quloob.

Translation: And the one who turns his attention towards Allaah, He guides him. These are people who find peace in their hearts through the Dhikr of Allaah .Understand well, that in the Dhikr of Allaah the Hearts find peace. (Soorah Ar Ra’d. Ayyahs 27 & 28)

Transliteration: Yaa Ayyuhal Ladheena Aamanudh Kuroollaaha Dhikran Katheeraa. Wa Sabbihoohu Bukratan Wa Aseelaa.

Translation: O Believers, do the Dhikr of Allaah in abundance and glorify Him day and night (all the time). (Soorah Ahzaab Aayahs 40-41)

Transliteration: Fadhkuroonee Adhkurkum Washkuroolee Wa Laa Takfuroon.

Translation: So, you do my Dhikr and I will do your Dhikr…..

(Soorah Al Baqarah Aayah 152)

How incredibly beautiful! First He puts in our hearts to do His Dhikr and then He does our Dhikr. Inshaallaah Ta’alaa when we become aware of His Dhikr for us, our hearts fills up with love for Him and His love for us. This love for Him and the awareness of His Love for us, purifies our hearts.

The most Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has the following to say about purification:

Hadrat ‘Abdullaah Bin ‘Umraoo  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulanaa Muhammad  has said: There is a cleaner & polisher for everything. Hearts are cleaned and polished by the Dhikr of Allaah . There is nothing (so great) which gives salvation from the punishment of Allaah except the Dhikr of Allaah . When asked : not even Jihaad Fee Sabeelillah (struggle in the path of Allaah )? He responded: even if he is wounded by a sword till the sword is broken (Dhikr is greater than this). (Baihaqee, Targheeb Wa Tarteeb page 396)

Hadrat Ibn ‘Umar has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: There is something which cleans everything and the thing which cleans (brightens and shines) the hearts is the Dhikr of Allaah . There is nothing greater which can give salvation from the punishment of Allaah than the Dhikr of Allaah . The Sahaabah (Companions) may Allaah  be pleased with them asked: Not even Jihaad Fi Sabeeilillaah? He  responded: Even though he is struck by a sword, till he dies. Indeed hearts get rusted just as bronze and silver become rusty. Its cleaner and polisher is the Dhikr of Allaah , because Dhikr cleans and brightens the heart to look just like a clean mirror. Then, when (the person) discontinues the Dhikr, the heart gets rusted and when he does the Dhikr, the hearts starts shining again. There are 2 more things which make the heart rusty. One is negligence (of Dhikr) and the 2nd is sin. The cleaning of the heart can also be done by 2 things. One is by Astaghfaar (seeking forgiveness) and the second is Dhikr. The person who neglects (Dhikr) often, his heart will also acquire layer by layer of rust and this rust will be because of his neglect. When the heart gets rusty, it cannot see the reality of things. Because of this, he sees wrong as right and right as wrong, this happens when the heart has layers of rust upon it so that it becomes very dark, and the reality of things do not become visible. So the darkness of the heart and the firmness of the rust makes his vision and his ability to understand (right from wrong) useless and incapacitated. He then does not accept the Truth and does not deny the falsehood. (Baihaqee)

Hadrat ‘Abdullah Bin ‘Umar  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: Indeed hearts become rusty just as iron becomes rusty. When asked what can be done to clean out the rust, he  replied: recitation of the Book of Allaah (The Holy Quraan) abundantly and the Dhikr of Allaah  in profusion. (Kunzul A’maal Vol. 1 page 207)

My dear readers, jewels of my eyes, never ever think about the Holy Quraan as only a book of regulations, only a book of criterion between right and wrong, only a book warning about the Hell Fire and giving good news of the Paradise.

Would you not be surprised if this Great Guidance for mankind from its Creator the Holy Quraan, would not show us how to remove these diseases of the heart? Here is what the last Revelation from Allaah Ar Raheem says in the Soorah Yoonus (10) Aayah 57:

“O mankind, there has come to you admonition from your Lord (The Holy Quraan) and a healing for the disease which is in your hearts; and for those who believe, a Guidance and a Mercy “

There it is beloved jewels of my eyes, right within the Holy Quraan, and the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  confirming in his above Ahadeeth that the Dhikr of Allaah  and Astaghfaar (seeking His forgiveness) in abundance and profusion are two very important methods of healing the diseased heart. Inshaallaah in our next issue we shall discuss more specifics about which Adhkaar (plural of Dhikr) can help us Purify.

ALHAMDU LILLAAHI RABBIL ‘AALAMEEN

Estimated readership of “The Virtues of Islaamic Life” has reached 43,500! The Mailing list keeps growing almost daily! Just as we are going to press, an Islaamic newspaper “Al-Imam” with world wide readership has approached us for permission to reprint “The Virtues of Islaamic Life” and distribute it world wide to its readers. Finally, if the Internet web site readers are included we could be perhaps reaching 75,000 to 100,000 muslims every month. However only Allaah  knows the correct number. This would probably mean that the “The Virtues of Islaamic Life” may have become an Islaamic publication with the largest readership in the world!

This entirely is a Karaamah from Allaah Al Kareem (The Most Generous) Who in His Infinite Mercy is making all this happen and our beloved and revered Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu is giving us his very special Tawajjuh (attention). You our beloved readers have also been very generous with your D’uaas. Jaza Kumullaah Khairan

However, Inshaallaah Ta’laa, you are all True Believers: So do not sit back and be contented with just reading. Become active by:

  • Putting the information into use & practice.
  • Informing others & motivating them to practice.
  • Donating generously & regularly so that you can help those who are truly needy and can benefit from “The Virtues of Islaamic Life”. Your concept should be clear that each dollar you send, will be returned to you by Allaah  multiplied million times in Eternal Gifts in Paradise, Inshaallah Ta’ala !!! Will you not act today?

VIRTUES OF SALAAATUL JUM’AH (FRIDAY)

Alongwith the five daily Salaats, the Salaat of Jum’atul Mubaarak (Friday Salaat) in congregation (instead of Salaatuz Zuhur) is also a Fard (Compulsory). Allaah  has ordained in the Holy Quraan:

“O Believers, when you are called to Salaat on Friday, hasten towards the Dhikr of Allaah  and suspend all buying and selling. This is better for you, if you have the knowledge. And when the Salaat is finished, then go out on to the earth of your Lord in search of His bounties and do the Dhikr of Allaah in profusion, so that you may attain success”. (Soorah Al Jum’ah, Aayahs 9 and 10).

Friday is the most excellent and distinguished day in the sight of Allaah  on account of six merits associated with it. Firstly, it is the day on which the Muslims the world over assemble together at central places in their habitations for the purpose of Allaah’s  remembrance, which is followed by the great congregational prayer. It is for this reason that the Beloved of Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has described Friday as the ‘Eed day for the Muslims. As for the other five merits of Friday the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: Friday is the most excellent and distinguished day among the days of the week in the sight of Allaah, so much so that it excels both, ‘Eed-ul-Fitr and ‘Eed-ul-Adha on account of the following five merits:

  • Allaah created Aadam  on Friday.
  • He sent him to the earth on this day as his vicegerent.
  • Aadam  died on Friday.
  • There is a blessed hour on Friday during which a person is granted by Allaah’s anything lawful and good that he prays for.
  • Resurrection will take place on Friday; that is why every thing in the heavens and the earth including Allaah’s  most favorite angels and mountains, rivers etc. stand in awe of Friday”. (Ibn Maajah)

On Friday therefore, my beloved readers, perform your Ghusl (Shower), don fine attire, use ‘atar, (perfume) and try to reach the Masjid early. A Hadeeth mentions that those who arrive the first it is as if they have slaughtered a camel for the pleasure of Allaah . Those who arrive next would be as if they sacrificed a cow and thereafter, a sheep, chicken or an egg in the name of Allaah .

After performing your Sunnah Salaat, sit down quietly and do not indulge in any useless activity or talk. Recite the Holy Quraan or Durood (Profusely on a Friday). Then listen very attentively to the Khutbah (Sermon). Even a single word you speak during the Khutbah could nullify your entire rewards of the Jum’ah Salaat.

The Beloved of Allaah  Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad has also said: “We came to the world last of all, but on the Day of Judgment we shall be the first to enter Paradise. The Jews and the Christians were given the book of guidance before us and we after them; they were enjoined to revere Friday but they differed regarding this. Allaah  favored us with His grace to adhere to His Command; thus they have been left behind: the Jews revere the next day (Saturday) and the Christians the day following that (Sunday)”.

(Bukhaaree, Muslim, Tarteeb Shareef page 328)

The Beloved of Allaah  Hadrat Sayidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad has said:

  • “The Friday Congregational Salaat is obligatory for every Muslim, except the slave, the woman, the child and the sick”. (Aboo Dawood)
  • “The Friday Salaat is obligatory on every person who believes in Allaah  and the Last Day; the one who ignores it on account of sport or fun, or trade and business, will be ignored by Allaah , Who is Pure and Self Sufficient”. (Daraqutni)
  • “The name of the person who abandons the Friday Salaat without a genuine reason, will be recorded as a hypocrite in the Book (the Preserved Tablet), whose writings can neither be scraped out nor tampered with (Mishkaat Shareef).
  • “I wish I should appoint someone as Imaam in my place, and I should go and set fire to the houses of the people who stay back at home and neglect the Friday Salaat”. (Muslim)
  • Hadrat Ibn ‘Umar  and Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  have reported that they heard the Beloved of Allaah , Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  say on the pulpit: “People are Warned against neglecting the Friday Salaat and Allaah otherwise will seal their hearts, and they will be condemned to negligence (for ever)”. (Muslim)
  • “The one who hears the call to the Friday Salaat and does not turn up for it on one Friday, and then on the second Friday and the third Friday consecutively, has his heart sealed and is turned into a hypocrite” (Tabraanee)

On Friday one should invoke Allaah  as often as possible for His blessing upon the Beloved Prophet ,(recite Durood) as the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: “The best day for you is Friday because Adaam  was created on Friday and he died on Friday and Resurrection will take place on Friday. Therefore, you should invoke Allaah blessing for me (Durood) frequently on this Day, because your Durood is presented before me”. The Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them all) asked, “O Messenger of Allaah ! Even when your body will have decayed”? The Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  replied; “The earth is forbidden to eat up a Prophet’s body”. (Abu Da’ood, Nisa’ai Tarteeb Shareef page 328)

After Salaatul Jum’ah Recite:-

Soorah Al Ikhlaas (112)…..7 times

Soorah Al Falaq (113)……7 times

Soorah An Naas (114)…..7 times

Hadrat Aaishah Siddeeqah narrated that Allaah  gives the person who recites the above Soorahs, protection from evil till the next Jum’ah.(Amal ul Yauma Wal Lailah, La Ibn Sunnee)

Hadrat Ibn ‘Abbaas  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: The person who after completion of Salaat ul Jum’ah recites:

Transliteration: Subhaan Allaahil ‘Azeemi Wa Bihamdihee . . .100 times.

Translation : Glorified is Allaah the Greatest and Praised.

When he does this Allaah  will forgive his 1,000 sins and 24,000 sins of his parents.

(‘Amal ul Yauma Wal Lailah, Ibn Sunnee, Tarteeb Shareef Page 354)

Ibn ‘Abbaas  narrated: On the Friday after performing Salaatul ‘Asr, before getting up from the musallaa recite:
Transliteration: Bismillaah hir Rahmaanir Raheem. Masha’Allaahi Laa Quwwata Illaa Billaahi Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyoomu Allaahumma Salli ‘Alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammadin Nabiyyil Ummiyyi Wa’Alaa Aalihee Wa Sallimu Tasleemaa, Iqrib Linnaasi Hisaabuhum Wa Hum fee Ghaflahin M’uridoon.

Translation: “In the name of Allaah the most Merciful the most Beneficent. Every thing happens with His will. There is no Power except His. The Truly Alive and Self Sustaining. Dearest Allaah bestow Your blessings upon our Master Muhammad the unlettered Prophet and upon his progeny, peace of the best kind. Drawn close to the people is the moment of their Accounting and they are neglectful rejecters.

To be continued in the next issue Inshaallaah Ta’laa

VIRTUES OF SUNNAH

Virtues of Growing the Beard (Continued)

It is mentioned in the collection of Ibn Maajah, that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa

Muhammad  has said: Those who do not act upon my Sunnah, are not from me.

It is mentioned in “Masnad ul Firdaus” that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad has said: Those who adopt the Sunnah of those who are not from among us (Meaning the Disbelieves) are also not from among our group (Meaning Believers).

It is reported by Ibn Asaakar that the Prince of Madeenah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: “Those who turn away from my Sunnah are not from my group (meaning not from my Ummah)!

Hadrat ‘Abdullah Bin ‘Umar has narrated that our Beloved master Hadrat Muhammad  has said: Do the opposite of the Mushrikeeen; Trim your mustache very short and grow your beards long. (Saheeh Bukhaaree).

In the collection of Baihaqee, it is reported that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: Trim your mustaches and grow your beards profusely. Do the opposite of the Jews and the Christians.

Hadrat ‘Abdullaah Bin ‘Umar  reports that our most Beloved Master Muhammad  has said while talking about Majoosees (Fire Worshipers): “(These people) grow their mustache long and shave their beard. You must do the opposite of what they do! (Attabaraanee)

In the Baihaqee collection, it is reported that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: Trim your mustache and give profusion to your beards. Do the opposite of what the Yahood and Nasaaraa do.

Alhamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen, enough evidence has been presented.

Dearest & Beloved Jewels of my eyes may my life be spent in striving to obey my Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali, Mudda Zilluhu, the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  and the Lord Almighty . May my life be spent in conveying to you the Truth about Islaam, and may Allaah give all of us the ability to discern fully that Islaam in Practice is nothing but putting the Holy Quraan into practice and putting the Quraan into practice is nothing more and nothing less then surrendering to the Sunnah of the one () to whom the Holy Quraan is revealed. If the matter about the beard was not important to us, Allaah  would not have mentioned it in the Holy Quraan, it would not have been the consistent Sunnah of all the 124,000 Prophets and Messengers of Allaah, Alaihimissalaam, and neither would His beloved  made it his own Sunnah nor would he have commanded us all to submit to it, neither would our Grand Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali, Mudda Zilluhoo have followed it nor this humble dust under his feet would have followed it! The fulfillment of the purpose of our creation is in the full realization that our bodies, minds and souls belong only to our Beloved & Merciful Creator . None of us in our right minds can claim to own one strand of hair, one strand of an eyelash, one cell in our bodies and minds, one cent of the money or one iota of this entire universe. Therefore He  is the only One who can claim total ownership over us. This is why He will reward with His Eternal gifts those who recognize His ownership over us and punish in the Hell Fire, those who do not. Total surrender means giving up All choices willingly, jubilantly and ecstatically. Those who think they have any claim or ownership even over an iota of their existence and those who want to exercise their choice to disobey the Real Owner and His Beloved Messenger will most certainly face His wrath on the Day of judgment.

I have a good feeling about all of you my beloved gems and fellow travelers. This feeling tells me very strongly that once any incontestable, clear and lucid evidence is placed in front of you, you will all Inshaallaah Ta’laa happily surrender because this is in your True Nature. This is why you study the “Virtues of Islaamic Life” sincerely and look forward to receiving it eagerly. Alhamdulillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen, with His Blessings and the Blessings of Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali, Mudda Zilluhoo, it teaches us all who we really are. There is nothing but peace in being True to our Nature.

(Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyoom, O The Truly and Perfectly Alive, O The Self Sustained).

SOME ESSENTIAL ADVICE FROM

Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu

CHARACTER (Continued)

  • O my young friend. For a long time the world is anxiously waiting for a model of any aspect of your character. Please wake up, strengthen you girdle, come forward and display any aspect of your character.
  • The rise of Humanity materializes not because of reading and studying about some action but because of internalizing of character. The history of the world has been written about humanity because of character. People of character have left the world, their bodies have become part of the earth, hundreds of years have passed by their bodies in the graves yet their mention is still alive, their respect still alive, their greatness still untouched and the good they did perpetually continues.
  • O my beloved mention is not made of masses, nations, riches and possessions but only of character. Character does not only remain perpetually, it actually guides those who come afterwards. Study the greatness of character! Prophethood is made up of specific traits of character and the character traits of Prophethood are at the root of every character. Whatever character measures up to this standard is acceptable, otherwise it is rejected.
  • Adopt any accepted character. Do not just make unique commotions. Every thing gets mixed up in a commotion.
  • Character Traits of Prophethood is a collection of selected letters, based upon dos and don’ts. Everything else is the flight of poetic imagination.
  • There is no good that has not been commanded and there is no evil that has not been prohibited.
  • We do not do good nor do we desist from evil. (Taqweem Daar-ul-Ehsaan, pages 188-189)

VIRTUES OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF FIQH & SHAR’IAH

Extracts from the great work ” Manifestation of the Stage of Excellence in Worship” by our beloved, esteemed and highly reversed Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhoo.

The Second Period of Fiqh

The second period of Fiqh is from Hijri year 110 through 170, which is the period of the Tabi’een (Those who saw and were taught by the Sahaabah Kiraam (The Companions) Ridwaanullaah ‘Alaihim Ajma’een. During this period the thought about Usoolul Fiqh (principles of Fiqh) and Tadweenul Fiqh (compiling of Fiqh) first occurred to Hadrat Imaam Aboo Haneefah (May Allaah’s Mercy be upon him).

Upon the realization of this true need of Islaam, although many eminent scholars were his contemporaries, his first well organized panel for compilation of Fiqh matters was completed. Imaam Suyootee (Allaah’s Mercy be upon him) writes that Imaam Aboo Haneefah (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) chronicled 1 million 3 hundred thousand Fiqh matters. His eminent contemporaries also used to benefit from this compilation. A well known scholar, Hadrat Sufiyaan, Thooree (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) wrote his book “Kitaabur Rahan” borrowing material from Imaam Aboo Haneefah’s compilation. Nadar Ibn Shameel has said that people were neglectful of Fiqh. Imaam Aboo Haneefah (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) caused the awakening. Imaam Maalik (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) has said that Imaam Aboo Haneefah (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) has been given Taufeeq (Receiving enlightenment from Allaah ) of Fiqh. (Khairaatul Hisaan)

One of the first who compiled the principles of Fiqh and gave systematic chapters in a book form, is Imaam Aboo Haneefah (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) and Imaam Maalik (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) followed him in the compilation of his “Muattaa”. (Khairaat ul Hisaan) Imaam Shaafa’ee’s (Rahmatullaah ‘Alaih) famous quotation is: “In matters of Fiqh people are the progeny of Aboo Haneefah”. (Kamaal Fee Asmaa Rijaalil Mishkaat)

To conclude, these Imaams and Mujtahideen are a gift from Allaah  They extracted the knowledge of Fiqh from the Quraanul Hakeem and the Ahaadeeth with perfection of caution, care and honesty. Any short comings were removed and the knowledge of Fiqh completed by those Imaams who followed them.

THE THIRD PERIOD OF FIQH

The Fuqahaa and Mujtahideen of the third period of Fiqh, considered their welfare and privilege was in following the great Imaams of the previous periods. Therefore they worked hard toward publishing and disseminating the knowledge of the Fiqh of the pervious period.

According to the saying of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  after the end of the three best periods, no one was endowed with neither that degree of knowledge or blessings nor that degree of Taqwaa (Allaah Awareness) and Tahaarah (Purity), nor that level of eloquence, honesty, and integrity. Inspite of hard work and assiduousness, it is not possible to reach the high stations awarded to them. This is the reason the ummah had to follow them. In other words on the basis of the need of Shari’ah, it became essential to follow these great Imaams. (MAKSHOOFAT MANAAZILE EHSAAN – Manifestations of the Stages of Excellence. TRANSLATION OF THE HIGHLY ACCLAIMED BOOK IN 5 VOLUMES MAKSHOOFAT MANAAZIL EHSAAN

(Manifestations of The Stages of Excellence in Worship) – – – continued:

By Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhoo

Hadrat Abee Umaamah  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: Among my friends the one who is worthy of being envied, in my opinion, is that mumin (true believer) who is very light regarding the riches and the thoughts of the world and is fortunate regarding the Salaat (that is, he worships his Lord well) and who is busy with the obedience of his Lord secretly; who is not well known among people, who is not pointed out with fingers, whose provision is of the meager type on which he is patient and contented. After saying this he  snapped his fingers and said: his death was hastened, there are few women who will weep for him and minute is what he leaves behind. (Ahmad, Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah)

Hadrat Umaamah  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  has said: Allaah presented this matter to me that He will convert the pebbles of Makkah into gold for me. I submitted: No my Provider, what I would like is to eat my full one day and remain hungry one day. When I am hungry I would plead and cry towards You and remember You. And when I eat my full, praise You and thank You.

(Ahmad, Attirmidhee)

Hadrat Miqdaam Bin Ma’d Yakrib  has narrated: I have heard the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  saying: Man has not filled any utensil worse than the stomach (when the stomach is made full and from it religious and wordily diseases spread). For man a few morsels are enough which will keep his back straight. If it is essential to fill the stomach, then he should divide his stomach into 3 parts. One for food, the 2nd for water and the 3rd for respiring. (Attirmidhee, Ibn Maajah)

Hadrat Ibn ‘Umar  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  heard a person belch and said: Shorten your belching, because on the Day of Judgement the person who will have a big hunger would be the one who used to fill his stomach with food. (Sharah Sunnah, Attirmidhee)

Hadrat K’ab Bin ‘Ayaad  has narrated: I have heard the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  say: There is a fitnah (mischief) for every ummah. The fitnah of my ummah is Maal (Riches). (Tirmidhee)

TransliterationAllaahumma Salli ‘alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammadiun Wa Aalihee Wa’itratihee be ‘Adadi Kulli Ma’ loomillaka Astaghfirullaa Halladhi La ilaahaa illaa huwal Hayyul Qayyoomu Wa Atoobu ilaih. Yaa Hayyu Yaa QayyoomTranslationDear Allaah, bestow Your Choicest Blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his extended family and his progeny according to the number of all things known to You. I seek the forgiveness of the One but for whom there is no God, The Truly and Perfectly Alive and The Self Sustained and I turn to Him with repentance. O The Truly and Perfectly Alive O The Self Sustained
This is the Salaatunnabi (Durood) recited by Hadrat Sayyidinaa UWAIS QARNEE , and the inherited Durood Shareef of the Honorable chain of Quadariyyah; Mujaddidiyyah; Ghafooriyyah; Raheemiyyah; Kareemiyyah and Ameeriyyah.
It is highly recommended that those who seek the love and closeness to the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad make it mandatory upon themselves to recite this Durood Shareef according to their capacity and the time they have available. For instance at least 11 times after each Salaat. It should be recited more frequently after Ishaa, Tahajjud and Fajr. 100,300,500 times or even more. Remember though, once the frequency is fixed, be steadfast upon it!
