BACK TO BASICS (continued) t

Beloved Readers. In our previous issue we presented ‘Aquaaid (Beliefs) related to the Essence and Attributes of Allah Jalla Jalaaluhu. We shall now by His grace present to you:~

Beliefs Concerning Messengerhood (Risaalah) and Prophethood (Nabuwwah).

For every muslim, just as it is essential to have correct knowledge about the Essence and Attributes of Allah Rabbul ‘Izzah, similarly it is essential to know and understand what is permissible to the Prophet (Nabee) and the Messenger (Rasool) what is Waajib (essential) and what is impossible. Ignorance about this matter may make a person deny what is Waajib for the Prophet and Messenger and accept what is impossible. This could very well destroy that person’s Hereafter. Let us first understand the difference between a Prophet and a Messenger. They are both human beings appointed by Allah  receive His guidance through His Wahee (Revelation). The Messenger (Rasool) is given the revelations in the form of books (Scriptures). The Prophet also receives the Wahee (Revelation) but not in the form of a book. Every Messenger is therefore a Prophet also. The Prophet is not a Messenger. Apart from this there are no other differences.

  • A Messenger can be an angel also. The angel however carries the message from Allah Ta’ala to his human Messenger, Prophet or selected human being such as Hadrat Mariam, Mother of Eesa Alai his salaam.
  • All human Messengers were males. Neither a Woman nor a Jinn were sent as Messengers.
  • For a Messenger it is essential that he receive the Wahee directly from Allah  or through an Angel. For any to believe that other human beings also receive the Wahee, is Kufr (Disbelief).
  • The Dream of a Messenger is also Wahee.
  • Prophethood in not hereditary. It is only a gift from Allah. He bestows it upon whosoever He wills. He gives it after he prepares him for the great responsibility, purifies him of all the characteristics of sinfulness and instills in him all exemplary and noble traits. The Prophet is purified from his body, language, deeds and actions any aspects which can cause revulsion. He is provided with ‘Aql Kaamil (Perfected Intelligence) which is far superior to that of ordinary human beings; the brightest genius among human beings cannot reach even one millionth of a prophet’s intelligence.
  • It is essential for the Prophet to be Ma’soom (Innocent). There is no one else as innocent as the Prophets and the Angels. This innocence is the result of the promise of Allah  to protect them from all sins.
  • All the Prophets and Messengers have conveyed all that they were commanded to convey.
  • Their bodies are protected from diseases such as leprosy etc. which can be a cause of aversion.
  • Allah ‘Azza Wa Jal has revealed to all his prophets the secrets of the unseen, so that they know about every thing hidden and unseen between the Heavens and the Earth. This knowledge of the unseen is bestowed upon them by Allah the Almighty, it is not their own.
  • They are all sent to disseminate the knowledge of the unseen such as the Paradise, Hell Fire, Rewards and Punishment; in brief, matters beyond the access of human mind and the five senses.
  • All the Prophets are superior to all the creation of Allah Ta’la, including the angels. No Walee (Saint) of Allah Ta’la no matter how high his station, is in any way superior to or even equal to the prophet.
  • Respect of the Prophets is obligatory. The slightest disrespect of a Prophet is Kufr.
  • Between Adam  and the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad, Allah Ta’la has sent many thousand Prophets, some are mentioned in the Quraanul Majeed by name and many are not.
  • Hadrat Adam  was created from clay by Allah  without father and mother. He gave him the knowledge of all the names of things which have names and made him His Khaleefah (Vicegerent). Angels were commanded by Allah  to prostrate themselves to Adam . They all prostrated except the Iblees (A kind of Jinn who was a very industrious worshipper because of which he was in the company of angels). The Iblees (Shaitaan) refused and became accursed for ever.
  • Hadrat Adam  is the first human being. No human being existed before him. All human beings are from him that is why they are called Aadami meaning children of Adam  and he is also called Abul Bashar, meaning father of all human beings.
  • The first Prophet is Hadrat Adam . The first Prophet who was sent to Kuffaar is Hadrat Nooh , who preached to them for 950 years. The Kuffaar of his period were harsh. They used to persecute him and laugh at him. Only a few become believers. Confronted with their persistent intransigence, he made D’ua in the Court of Allah Rabbul ‘Izzah to destroy them. Except for the few believers and pairs of many animals who took refuge in the ark, all his people were destroyed by the flood. (To be continued Inshaallah Ta’la)

VIRTUES OF THE MONTH. Rajab Ul Murajjab

Hadrat Salmaan Faarsi  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadhas said that there is a day in the month of Rajab on which if a person fasts and does Qiyaamul Lail (night vigil ) on that night, he will receive rewards like a person who fasts for 100 years and does Qiyaamul Lail for nights of 100 years. This night is the night of the 27th (Rajab) and the day of the 27th (Rajab). This is the day on which Hadrat Muhammadwas appointed to Messengerhood. (Ghuniyatut Talibeen, Tarteeb Shareef page 781)
Hadrat Salmaan  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadhas said “O Salmaan, there is no Mumin (True Believer) and Muminah (Truly Believing Female) who performs 30 Raka’ah in the month of Rajab and in each Raka’ah recites Surah Al Faatihah once, Surah Al-Ikhlaas 3 times, and Surah Al Kafiroon 3 times that Allah  does not forgive them their sins and bestows rewards upon them as upon a person who has fasted a whole month. He becomes among those who will be steadfast in their salaat in the year which is to come. For him the deeds of the day is equal to that of the martyr. He will be raised with the Martyrs of the Holy Battle of Badr. For him is written for the fast of each day, one year’s worship. His station is raised 1000 times higher. If he fasts the entire month of Rajab and he performs this (Above) Salaat, Allah  will give him salvation from the Hell Fire, make Waajib for him, His Paradise and bestow His Nearness upon him. Hadrat Jibreel  informed me “O Muhammadthis is the sign between youand the Mushrikeen (Polytheists) and the Munaafiqeen (Hypocrites) because the Munafiq does not perform this Salaat.” Hadrat Salmaan  says, I beseeched “O Rasoolallahtell me when and how shall I perform this Salaat” He said “O Salmaan, perform 10 Raka’ah on the first of it (month of Rajab) and in each Raka’ah recite Surah Al-Faatihah once, Surah Al Ikhlaas thrice and Surah Al Kafiroon thrice and after you do your Salaam (at the end of the Salaat) raise your hands and recite.

Translation: There is no God but Allah, The One Who has no partners. To Him belongs all His kingdom and all the praise, Who created life and death and Who is Alive without Death. From His hands (only) good is done and Who has Power over everything. Dearest Allah, no one can stop what You bestow and no one can give what You prevent. There is no one who can profit us except You the August among all. “Then spread your hands over your face.” In the middle of the month perform 10 Raka’ah and in each Raka’ah recite Surah Al Faatihah once, Surah Al Ikhlaas thrice, and Surah Al Kafiroon thrice and after you do your salaam (at the end of the Salaat) raise your hands towards the heavens and recite:

Translation: “There is no God but Allah, the One who has no partners. To Him belongs all His Kingdom and all the praise. Who created life and death and Who is Alive without Death. From His Hands (only) good is done and Who has Power over everything. The only God, Unique, Who has no needs . . . . . . He has no wife and no children. Then spread your hands over your face. You perform this Salaat at the end of the month, 10 Raka’ah. In every Raka’ah recite Surah Al Faatihah one, Surah Al Ikhlaas thrice and Surah Al Kafiroon thrice. After you do your salaam, raise your hand towards the heaven and recite:

Translation: There is no God but Allah, The One Who has no partners. To Him belongs all His kingdom and all the praise. Who created life and death and Who is Alive without Death. From His Hands (only) good is done and Who has Power over everything. And the blessing of Allah be upon the Master Muhammad and upon his pure progeny and there is no power greater than that of Allah  Who is the Greatest in Might”. Then ask for your needs (to be fulfilled). Your Supplication will be accepted and Allah  will create 70 trenches between you and the Hell fire, the distance between each trench will be like it is between Heaven and Earth and written for you will be freedom from Fire of Hell, and from crossing the Bridge of Siraat.” When the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadhad finished, I fell down in prostration, weeping out of gratitude towards Allah  for the abundance of the rewards. Note:~ We here in Daar-ul-Ehsaan, perform this salaat every year , in pairs of 2 Raka’ah, doing the salaam after each pair. This way we do 10 Raka’ah in 5 pairs and the supplication after the salaam of the fifth pair. Allah and his belovedknow the best. (Ghuniyatut Talibeen, Tarteeb Shareef Page 756 – 770).

VIRTUES OF SALAATUNNABI(Durood)

My dearest and most beloved readers, who among you would not like to be occupied in a manner in which Allah  Himself is occupied and his angels occupied? Which one of you would not like to love the Beloved of Allahin this life and be closest to himon that terrible Day of Judgment? None I hope and pray Inshaallah Ta’la. O my beloved soulmates, do not spend even a moment of your vital time in idleness, useless discussions, arguments and reading useless information. Instead fill your moments with reciting Salaatun Nabi on our Beloved of Allah, the mercy to the universe, Hadrat Muhammad . Remember every possession, every penny that you earn beyond your basic & simple needs for food, shelter and clothing you will leave behind in this world and the time you spend earning it will keep you away from the recitation of Salaatun Nabi. Let me remind you jewels of my eyes the worst regret of all, is the regret of the Hereafter. No one can come back to this world again and refill the wasted moments with this occupation of all occupations! We are alive now . . . either we can be jubilant in the company of Allah and his Belovedfor eternity or spend an eternity in regret! Will you please pay heed? Inshaallah Ta’la we shall provide you some more gems (Ahadeeth) from the Beloved of Allah so that you can quench your thirst for the love and company of the Lord of Mercy and His most Beloved Hadrat Muhammad

Hadrat Qaitaba , Hadrat Rashideen Bin Sad , Hadrat Hameed Bin Haari , Hadrat Umran Bin Maalik  have narrated that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadwas with us when a person came and performed his salaat and said “Allahummaghfirlee Warhamnee” (O Allah forgive me and have mercy upon me).The Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad told him “O worshipper you were hasty. After your Salaat you should have sat down and then praised Allah (first) and then recite Durood (Salaatun Nabi) upon me and then supplicated (made Du’a). The narrators continue that after this another person performed his Salaat. Then he Praised Allah  and then recited Durood on the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad. He said “O Worshipper now make D’ua, your D’ua will be accepted”.
(Jamia Tirmidhi, Sunan An Nisaai, Sunan Abee Dawood) This is a Hasan Hadeeth.

Hadrat Anas Bin Maalik  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad has said the one who sends Durood upon me once, Allah  will send him 10 blessings and the one who sends Durood upon me 10 times Allah  will send him blessings 100 times and the one who sends Durood upon me 100 times, Allah  will write between his eyes (forehead) freedom (Salvation) from hypocrisy and Fire and give him his abode along with the martyrs.( At Tabraani ).

Beloved readers, the above Hadeeth illustrates, how pleased Allah  is when we recite Durood on His BelovedFor just sending 100 Duroods, look what the rewards are. Just imagine His Pleasure when we recite thousands of Duroods upon his Beloved .
In this issue I also want to bring to your attention another amazing phenomenon about this unique ‘Ibaadah. None of us are permitted to take it for granted that the good deeds that we have performed have been accepted by Allah .

In a well known Saheeh Hadeeth (I am paraphrasing the 2nd part of the Hadeeth) the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadsaid to Ummul Mumineen Hadrat Aayeshah  Siddeeqah to the effect that no one is awarded Paradise by Allah because of their good deeds. It is only by His Mercy that we attain Paradise. Hadrat Aayeshah Siddeeqah inquired, “O Rasoolallahdoes this apply, to ordinary people like us or does it include you also? Her beloved husbandresponded “It includes me also”.
You see my beloved readers we can not bank upon acceptance of our deeds and worship. It is only on the Day of Judgment that we shall know which of our good deeds and worship were accepted by the Lord of the Universe. Please make note jewels of my eyes, that the recitation of Durood is the only good deed that we can perform knowing beforehand that it will receive immediate and Gracious acceptance by our Allah .
My beloved readers Inshaallah Ta’ala we shall continue providing you many more virtues of Salaatun Nabi in our next issue.

Truly, Islam is a Deen of simple actions performed with devotion. No scholarship, no PhD’s are required to attain Paradise. Simple basic knowledge and then putting it into practice is all that is required. WARNING WARNING WARNING
Shirk (Associating partners with Allah ) is the greatest of all major sins. The obvious aspect of Shirk like worshipping idols etc. is known to all of us. The other aspect is ostentation (Showing off) and hypocrisy (Insincerity) which are less understood and very common. About the first kind Allah  has mentioned in the Quraan, “Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating anything with Him, and forgives whatever is other than that to whomever He Wills.” ( An Nisa 4:48 and 116 )
“Indeed, the one who associates anything with Allah, Allah will forbid him the Garden, and his abode is the Fire.” (Al Maidah 5:75)
About the 2nd kind Allah  says in the Quraan, ”We shall turn towards whatever deeds they did and make them into scattered particles of floating dust”. (Al Furqan 25:23) This means that the works which they did for the
attention or pleasure of anyone other then Allah , will receive no rewards and will become like the scattered particles of dust which are seen floating in the sun’s rays. Hadrat Ali Ibn Hatim  narrated that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad  said: “On the Day of Judgment, a group of people will be led towards the Paradise until they hear its humming, smell its fragrance, see its palaces and whatever Allah  has prepared for its inhabitants. Then a call will be made to turn them away from it, since they have no portion in it. Then they will turn away with regret and longing for it, like other groups of people before and after them. They will say, “Our Lord! If you had admitted us to the Fire before showing us what we have seen of the rewards you have prepared for your friends, it would have been easier for us.” Then Allah Most High will say, “That is what I intended for you. In privacy you were arrogant towards Me, but when you were among people you were humble towards them, showing them your good deeds, the opposite of what you gave to Me in your hearts. You gave to people and not to Me; you showed veneration towards people but not towards Me; your renunciation was for people but not for Me. Therefore, today I am making you taste grievous punishment and withholding from you My abundant rewards.” (Tabaraani, Abu N’aim, Baihaqi)
Jewels of my eyes, do you not think it is vital for all of us to take a good look at our life styles? Our mansions, our grand cars, our clothes, jewelry of our wives and bluntly question our motives? Are these deeds done to please Allah , or to show off, impress people, for their approval and to satisfy our egos? Should we all not check our motives before performing even our acts of worship, to see if we are seeking to please Allah ?
Should we all not wake up NOW before the Angel of Death Alaihis-salaam suddenly cuts off the door of repentance abstention and seeking of forgiveness and throws us in the August Presence of the “Maaliki Yaumiddeen” (Owner of the Day of Judgment) to face His wrath?
From the glimpses I have given you of the life of our Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat Ali Mudda Zilluhu, you can see how wise he is. His lifestyle which is a true reflection of that of the Beloved of my soul Hadrat Muhammad  is totally and completely free from the dangers of the awful doom that awaits those who do not pay heed to the warnings of the beloved of Allah, Muhammad  and to the warnings of Almighty Allah .

VIRTUES OF EVERYDAY D’UAS

When you sneeze.

The beloved of Allahsaid: when you sneeze say:
(Hadrat Abu Hurairah , Bukhaaree, Abu Dawood, Nisaai)

When you hear some one sneeze.
Hadrat Abu Hurairah  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadsaid: when you hear some one sneeze you should say:

If the one who sneezes is Ahle Kitab (Jew or Christian)

Hadrat Abu Moosa Ash’aree  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadsaid: If the one sneezes is Ahle Kitab (Jew or Christian) then the one who hears it should reply:

SOME ESSENTIAL ADVICE FROM – – –

Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu

Do not draw aside one person from a gathering & whisper to that person. It creates suspicion.

When eating food do not engage in sad and morose conversation.

Do not sit upon the front steps of your homes.

Do not eat out of a cooking vessel.

Do not remove pubic hair with a scissor.

Put on your ‘Amaamah (Islamic head dress) sitting down.

Putting on your clothes & shoes start from the right and when removing them begin from the left.

Our aim is to do Itteba’ (Following) of the Sunnah (Practices) of the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad ; we do not have any other aim. Wherever you find a blessed Sunnah, take it and please inform me, so that I may also put it into practice. Never allow your Ego to interfere about matters of the Deen. Wherever there is a gathering about matters of Deen, participate in it and return with some blessing or the other. Be warned, never at any time behave rudely in any gathering of Deen.

Your headdress (‘Amaamah) should be that of respect when you visit a gathering of matters of Deen and never treat any one with rudeness or behave in an unsightly manner.

Virtues of the Knowledge of Fiqh and Shariah

My beloved readers, in Surah Al Faatihah, verse No. 5 we are taught by our Beloved Lord and Creator of the Universe. “Guide us along The Straight Path; the path of those upon whom Your favor was bestowed . . . .” In Surah 4, Verse 69 and part of Verse 70 Allah  specifies those fortunate ones who did and do receive His favor (of being on the straight Path) ; “All who obey Allah (Ta’ala) and the messengerwill be in the company of those who received Allah’s favor (of being on the Straight Path), the Prophets, the Siddeeqeen (Lovers of Truth), the Shuhadaa (Martyrs) and the Saliheen (Reformers). . . .

Jewels of my eyes, muslims in general and all the scholars of Islam throughout our history are in agreement and certainly we in Daar-ul-Ehsaan sincerely believe that the 4 Imaams, Hadrat Imaam Maalik, Hadrat Imaam Abu Haneefah, Hadrat Imaam Shafa’ee and Hadrat Imaam Ahmad Hanbal (May Allah’s Mercy be upon them all) are the greatest Imaams of all times and are among the Saliheen (Reformers) if not also the Siddiqueen as mentioned in the above Aayah. Please note this point very carefully my beloved soulmates, that we are and all Muslims of all times have been making Du’a to Allah  in every Raka’ah of every Salaat (In Surah Al-Faatihah) to show us the path (Straight Path) of the specially beloved group of pious muslims mentioned above. Allah in his infinite Mercy responded by sending us the above four great reformers (among many others of course). With our hearts full of gratitude to the Lord of Mercy for sending them to us, we should with perfect trust in Him, follow their path (which is the path which the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad himself showed us from the Holy Quraan).

Some put forward the case that Imaam Shafa’ee (Rahmatullah Alaih) says that touching one’s wife breaks the Wudu and Imam Abu Haneefah (Rahmatullah ‘Alaih) maintains it does not. And we are asked which ruling does one choose. This is presented as a big problem! For majority of muslims like you and me it is no problem! Since all the 4 Imaams are correct (each one has substantial evidence to support his conclusion) don’t you see the simplest, the easiest and the most effective course is to follow any one Imaam all the way! and with 100% confidence that any Imaam you choose will take you to Paradise Inshaallah. I repeat again as it is important. All the 4 Imaams spent their entire life times in researching and determining the course of Shariah which is in strict accordance with the Quraan and Sunnah. Hence following any one of those great Imaams DOES NOT mean, one is abandoning the Quraan and the Sunnah. It actually ensures that we are indeed following the Quraan and the Sunnah. Our Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu has all his life followed the Madhhab of Imaam Abu Haneefa so does this humble pupil of his. There are millions of Muslims who follow the Madhhab of Imaam Abu Haneefah and the millions of Muslims follow the Madhhab of the other 3 Imaams. Our life Alhamdulillah is free from confusion and no time is wasted looking up evidence (there are literally thousands of matters in the Islamic Shariah) so that we can fully concentrate upon our worship, life is so short. Let us take the example of the life of our Grand Shaikh, Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu and all the notable Aulia (Saints) and Reformers of our history. Having resolved very early in their lives to follow the Madhhab of one Imaam, their journey towards the Lord of Power was like that of a formidable river headed on its course towards the Ocean of His Mercy with the utmost certitude without stopping and without distractions. Compare this example with those who are endlessly bogged down with questions, clarifications, checking of Dalaail, checking the references at every little step; consequently with little time left and even less inclination to fill their lives with thousands of ‘Amaal Salehah (Good Deeds) that are available to those who are eager to meet their Lord of Power and Mercy. The choice is yours.
Those who have the formidable knowledge and scholarship needed to do Ijtehaad, should do so in areas which are unique to our times. This of course has still to be done in the light of rules of Fiqh and Shariah which have already been established – nothing new, no new laws are needed, since our Deen has been perfected for all times by Allah .

CORRECTION CORRECTION CORRECTION

One of our beloved readers pointed out to us that there are two errors in our previous issue – No. 6 (Vol. 2).
The first one is on page 6. I wrote: “In the Holy Quraan Allah  states that all children are born muslims. He also states that Islam is the Deenul Fitrah (Deen according to our “Real Nature)”
The actual translation of the Verse 30 – of Surah 30 is: ~ “So set your face (O Muhammad ) towards the religion of pure Islamic Monotheism Haneefaa, (worship none but Allah Alone) Allah’s Fitrah (Allah’s Monotheism) with which He has created mankind,”
not what I quoted in the above issue.
The Tafseer of this Aayah was made by the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad in a Hadeeth narrated by Hadrat Abu Hurairah  in the collection of Bukhaaree: ”Every child born is in True Nature (Islam). The Parents make them Jews and Christians and Majoosee (Fireworshippers)”This leads to my 2nd unfortunate error on page 7 where I have written: “Allah Ta’ala states in the Holy Quraan that it is the parents (or whoever brings the children up) who turn them into Jews, Christians, Polytheists etc.” The above words are actually from the above quoted Hadeeth and not in the Quraanul Majeed as I wrote. I seek Allah’s forgiveness first and apologize to you my beloved readers most profusely. I also thank my dear friend who kindly corrected me, Jazaakallaahu Khairan.

Virtues of Purification (Tazkiatun Nafs) Continued

Jewels of my eyes, I hope Inshaallah Ta’ala that the point we made from the Quraanul Majeed and the Hadeeth of the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadthat all human beings are born muslims and that Islam is the Deenul Fitrah (Deen according to our True Nature) is well understood by you all. I also hope that it is clear that Islam is made for us and we for Islam. It is now important to understand that the seat of Imaan, and all the positive emotions such as pure love and compassion, is the Qalb (Heart). The Qalb also becomes, if not handled properly during childhood and the growing up period, the seat of all negative emotions such as, hatred, envy, jealousies, anger, greed, anxieties, insecurities, need to show off, pretense etc. etc. Allah has referred to this phenomenon as “Amraad ul Qalb ” (Diseases of the Qalb) . It is not difficult to now understand that the Qalb and the kind of emotions it festers, play a vital role as to the kind of muslims we are. These emotions whether they are positive or negative are very powerful. The positive ones, which totally support the prompting of our ‘Aql (The logical mind) can dynamically propel us (with the Will and help of Allah ) to the heights of closeness to the Lord of Mercy. The obsessive force of the negative emotions on the other hand, almost always over ride the wise prompting of the ‘Aql to get their own way. It is under the sway of the negative dynamics that a muslim commits major sins. Allah has used the term “Nafsul Ammara Bis’soo” in the Holy Quraan to describe this negative compulsive force. We shall use the term “ego” in our translation. You will now understand why Allah  has mentioned in the Holy Quraan “Indeed he succeeded who purified his self. And indeed he failed who corrupted his self” (Surrah 91 Ayah 9). Jewels of my eyes, this is also why we at Daar-ul-Ehsaan, emphasize purification of the self (Tazkiatun Nafs) so much and run exhaustive programs for all the members of our Jama’ah.

My beloved readers you have read in this very issue under the heading “Warning” the hair raising Ahadeeth of the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadabout the hidden shirk which is ostentation (Showing off) and hypocrisy (performing deeds to please and impress human beings rather than Allah ) which is hidden polytheism. Indeed hidden shirk is like a black ant, crawling on a black rock, in the darkest of nights! The cause of this? We are back to the ego and the diseases of the Qalb. First of all how do we even become aware of this evil within us? Secondly how do we get rid of this awful danger facing us all? We are back to purification. Dearest soulmates, I am fully aware that I have stretched this point already . The reason I have done this is to leave no doubt in your minds that just reading books, acquiring enormous doses of knowledge and becoming armchair and drawing room scholars will not purify us. Moreover every one of us must make a powerful Jihaad with the Ego – NONE OF US are exempt. This is why the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadcalled it the “Jihaadul Akbar” (The great Jihaad). Why did muslims & especially our scholars not do enough of this Jihaad for centuries? Because it is very easy to remain in the cozy comfort of our homes, buy books, read them and attain ego satisfactions and fame by making speeches, arguing and writing books or spending our energies pervertedly by making Jihaad against other “book scholars” who disagree with us. You and I know this is exactly what is happening among the Muslim Ummah and this is why we have so many sects. All of this of course is Ego based. It is very difficult to wage that Holy Struggle with a formidable enemy. This is why jewels of my eyes, we revere, respect and follow our Beloved Shaikh, Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu. He did it just the way the Quraan commands us to do it and just the way Hadrat Muhammad and his holy companions (May Allah be pleased with them all) showed us to do it. My beloved readers, I repeat that the best way to do this Jihaadul Akbar is the way I have mentioned in the last paragraph on page 6 of the previous issue of “Virtues of Islamic Life” (vol. 2 No. 6) in the last paragraph. This is to seek and then hand oneself over to a competent Shaikh who has done this Jihaad successfully. However in the next issue, with the Mercy of Allah , the Most Compassionate, I will do my best to pen down some practical methods selected from the books of our Hadrat Shaikh Mudda Zilluhu, of course based upon the Holy Quraan and Sunnah of the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad so that those of you who are eager, willing and receptive, can get started with this Holy Struggle, the rewards for which will be Inshaallah Ta’ala success here and success in the Hereafter as promised by Allah .

TRANSLATION OF THE HIGHLY ACCLAIMED BOOK IN 5 VOLUMES “MAKSHOOFAT MANAAZIL EHSAAN”

(MANIFESTATION OF THE STAGES OF EXCELLENCE IN WORSHIP) CONTINUED :~

By Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu.

Hadrat Anas  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammadhas said: Three things accompany the coffin; and two come back and one remains with the coffin. People of his household and money go with him and come back leaving him alone. His deed goes along with him and remains with him. (Bukhaaree, Muslim)

Hadrat ‘Abdullah Bin Mas’ood  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad has said: Who among you holds the money of his inheritors dearer to him then his own? His companions replied humbly: there is no one among us who would hold the money of his inheritors dearer then his own. The Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad then said: His money is that which he has already sent ahead of him (Through charity) and the money of the inheritors is that which he left behind when he died. (Bukhaaree)
Hadrat Mutarraf narrates that he heard his father say: I presented myself in the blessed presence of the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad. He was at that time reciting Surah At Takaathur. He then said: The son of Adam keeps saying my money, my money although the truth is O son of Adam, you do not get any thing from this money except what you have eaten (In food) wore and tore and gave in charity to accumulate it in the Hereafter. (Muslim)

Hadrat Abu Hurairah  narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad said: Ghinaa (Richness) is not from excesses of money and possessions but (True) Ghinaa is from richness of the heart. (Bukhaaree, Muslim) To be continued Inshaallah Ta’la.

When Allah and His Paradise truly become our goal, practicing Islam becomes very simple and easy. When the world and what it contains is really what we are after, we become indifferent to Islamic practices, or they become very difficult and sometimes even hateful! Will you not get back on the track if you are off of it, for your own sake?

Salaatunnabi (Durood) recited by
Hadrat Sayyidinaa UWAIS QARNEE
TransliterationAllaahumma Salli ‘alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammadiun Wa Aalihee Wa’itratihee be ‘Adadi Kulli Ma’ loomillaka Astaghfirullaa Halladhi La ilaahaa illaa huwal Hayyul Qayyoomu Wa Atoobu ilaih. Yaa Hayyu Yaa QayyoomTranslationDear Allaah, bestow Your Choicest Blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his extended family and his progeny according to the number of all things known to You. I seek the forgiveness of the One but for whom there is no God, The Truly and Perfectly Alive and The Self Sustained and I turn to Him with repentance. O The Truly and Perfectly Alive O The Self Sustained
This is the Salaatunnabi (Durood) recited by Hadrat Sayyidinaa UWAIS QARNEE, and the inherited Durood Shareef of the Honorable chain of Quadariyyah; Mujaddidiyyah; Ghafooriyyah; Raheemiyyah; Kareemiyyah and Ameeriyyah.
It is highly recommended that those who seek the love and closeness to the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad make it mandatory upon themselves to recite this Durood Shareef according to their capacity and the time they have available. For instance at least 11 times after each Salaat. It should be recited more frequently after Ishaa, Tahajjud and Fajr. 100,300,500 times or even more. Remember though, once the frequency is fixed, be steadfast upon it!
