BACK TO BASICS (Continued)

Beliefs Concerning Messengerhood (Risaalah) and Prophethood (Nabuwwah)

  • It is not permissible to determine the exact number of Prophets and Messengers that were sent to the world. Reports about this are varied. To believe that a certain exact number were sent, would mean exclusion of some who were sent or inclusion of some who were not sent. Both these are matters of Kufr.
  • Allaah  in his wisdom has given some Prophets/Messengers higher stations than others. Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa  has been given the highest station among the Prophets and Messengers of Allaah. He is called Afdalul Ambiaa (Highest among the Prophets) and Sayyadul Mursaleen (Leader of the Messengers).
  • The Ummah of the most Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  has also been named by Allaah  as the best of all the Ummahs (Soorah 3, Aayah 110).
  • One of the signs of the Prophets and Messengers is that Allaah  empowers then to perform miracles.
  • All the Messengers and Prophets are alive in their graves and move around at will by the command of Allaah .

Refer to the Ahadeeth of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa  who during the Isra (Night Journey) and M’iraaj (Ascension) saw Hadrat Moosa  performing salaat in the his grave, led the salaat of all the Messengers and Prophets of Allaah and thereafter met them on various heavens.

  • It was not permissible for the wives of the Prophets and Messengers to marry after their husbands went behind the curtain.

We shall now enumerate some of the aspects of the Messengerhood of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad , which were special only to him .

  • The Prophets and Messengers before the advent of Hadrat Muhammad  were sent to specific nations. Hadrat Muhammad  was sent to all the creation of Allaah , human beings, jinns, angels, animal kingdom, plant kingdom etc. etc. As it is compulsory for every human being to be obedient to him , so it is for all the creation of Allaah .
  • The Beloved of Allaah , Hadrat Muhammad  was honored by Allaah  with Isra (Night Journey) and Mi’raaj (Ascension), from Masjidul Haraam to Masjidul Aqsaa and from there through all the seven Heavens and beyond to the Kursee and ‘Arsh (Throne of the Almighty Allaah  ) in an infinitesimal section of the night, along with his blessed body. He was given closeness to the Lord of the Universe never awarded to any human being or an angel or any other creation of Allaah  ever, heard the Kalaam(Speech) of Allaah directly and examined in the minutest details ever all the manifestations, between the Heavens and the Earth.
  • On the Day of Judgement Shafa’at Kubra (Major Intercession) will only belong to the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad . His  intercession will be for mumin, kaafir, obedient, sinners; for all the creation of Allaah . This is the Highest Station among all the creation of Allaah  and is called Muqaam Mahmood.
  • The love for the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  is a measure of eemaan (Belief). No one can be a perfect mumin until the love for him, is more than the love for oneself, one’s father, mother, children and every thing in this world.
  • Obedience of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  is obedience of Allaah . Any one who unfortunately looks down upon any saying, deed and action of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  is a kaafir.
  • The first one to receive the Nabuwaah (Prophethood) is the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad and on that day all the Prophets and Messengers were commanded by Allaah  to accept him as a Messenger and as their leader and to help him and they were all given their Prophethood and Messengerhood on this basis.

An Important Point:

The mistakes that the Prophets and Messengers committed have been mentioned in the Holy Quraan and in some Ahaadeeth. To mention them outside the recitation and reproduction of the Holy Quraan and the narration of the Ahaadeeth is haraam. The slightest error of a Prophet carries with it wisdom and blessings beyond our human comprehension. If we take into consideration the one mistake of Adam , if he was not brought down to earth, the earth would not have become populated, no Messengers or Prophets would have come down and no books would have been revealed.

VIRTUES OF THE MONTH SHA’BAAN ALMU’AZZAM

Virtues of the Lailatul Barat (Night 0f Barat)

Hadrat Aa’yishah Siddeeqah  narrates that her Beloved husband Hadrat Muhammad  said: O Aa’yishah, what night is this? I said: Allaah  and His Rasool  know best. He  said this is the Nisfu Sha’baan (middle of Sha’baan) night. During (this night) all the deeds of the world and its slaves are raised up (they are presented to Allaah ). The number of people equal to the hair on the sheep of Bani Kalb (Tribe of Kalb) are given freedom from Hell by Allaah .Will you give me permission tonight (to perform worship)? I said: yes. He then stood for salaat. He  did a brief qiaam (stood briefly). He recited Soorah Al Faatihah and a small Soorah and then fell into prostration for half the night. Then he  stood up and performed the 2nd Raka’ah like the first one and fell into prostration. His  prostration lasted till Fajr. I kept watching and became frightened that Allaah  may have taken his  soul. When a long time elapsed I went close to him and touched the sole of his feet and he  moved and I heard him say “Allaahumma innee A’oozu bi ‘Afwika min ‘iqaabika wa a’oozu bi ridaaka min sakhatika wa a’oozu bika minka jalla wajhuka. Laa uhsee thanaaan ‘alaika ‘Alaa Nafsik.”

Translation: ”Dearest Allaah, I seek Your Protection of Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and protection of Your pleasure from Your anger and I seek protection in Your Majestic Face. I cannot enumerate Your Praises as only You can”.

I submitted: O Rasoolallaah , I heard you doing dhikr as I have never seen you do it before. He said: Have you its knowledge? I said: yes. He  said memorize (these words) and teach them (to others). Jibreel  told me to do this Dhikr in the sajdah (prostration). Ghuniyatuttaalibeen

Hadrat ‘Ali Murtada Karramallaahu Wajh has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  said: When the 15th of Sha’baan arrives, do Qiaamul Lail (spend the night in worship) that is, perform Nawaafil (salaat) and fast during the day because Allaah  descends upon the skies of the world after the sunset and proclaims ” Is there anyone who desires salvation so that I forgive him, anyone who beseeches for provision I will give it to him, anyone who is a victim of misfortunes, I will give him freedom from them? He continues to proclaim this till the daybreak.(Ibn-e-Maaja , Mishkaat Shareef, Tarteeb Shareef Page 791)

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa  said: Hadrat Jibreel  came to me in the night of middle of Sha’baan and told me ‘O Muhammad  please raise your blessed head towards the sky. I asked him what is this night? Hadrat Jibreel  said: This is the night in which Allaah  opens 300 doors out of the doors of his Grace & Blessings and forgives every person who does not join partners with him, does not practice Black Magic, is not a habitual alcohol drinker, who does not insist upon interest, adultery and fornication. Those (who commit these sins) are not forgiven till they do Taubah (Repent). When ¼ of the night had passed by, Jibreel  came down and said: O Muhammad please raise your blessed head & I raised my head to find the doors of Paradise open and an angel speaking out from the first door: (There is) good news for the person who turns tonight (to worship). Another angel calls out from the 2nd door (of Paradise): Happy will become the person who prostates tonight. Another angel calls out from the 3rd door: Happy will be the person who does D’uaa (Supplication) tonight. Another angel calls out from the 4th door: Happy will be those who do Dhikr tonight. Another Angel from the 5th door calls out: Happy will be the person who sheds tears with the fear of Allaah , tonight. Another angel calls out from the 6th door: Happiness is for all Muslims tonight. From the 7th door an angel calls out: Is there any one with a need, his need will be fulfilled. From the 8th door an angel calls out: Is there any one who would ask for forgiveness and he will be forgiven. I then asked Jibreel : how long will these doors (of Paradise) be open? Jibreel  said: from the beginning of the night to daybreak. Then he said ‘O Muhammad  the number of people given freedom from the Fire is equal to the hair on all the sheep of (Bani) Kalb (The tribe of Kalb). (Ghunyatuttalibeen, Tarteeb Shareef page 792)

During the 15th night of Sha’baan perform 100 Raka’at Salaatul Khair, and recite Surah Al-Ikhlaas 1000 times, that is 10 times Surah Al- Ikhlaas in each Raka’at. Salf Saaliheen (Pious Reformers of the past) used to assemble together and perform this Salaat in Jama’at. Hadrat Hasan Basri  narrates that 30 companions (May Allaah be pleased with them all) of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  gave me the news that any one who performs this salaat, Allaah  looks at him 70 times and every time He looks He fulfills one of his needs, the least of his needs being salvation.

(Ghaniyatuttaalibeen, Tarteeb Shareef page 796)

Whoever performs, in the month of Sha’baan, 8 Raka’at Nafl and in each Raka’at recites Surah Al Ikhlaas 11 times, with one Salaam (at the end of the 8 Raka’ats) and makes D’uaa to Allaah  to pass on the thawaab (rewards) to the soul of Hadrat Sayyadatun Nisaa Faatimatuzzahraa , She  says I will not step into Paradise till I intercede (for the one who did this Salaat). Risaalah Fadaailush Shuhoor.

VIRTUES OF SALAATUNNABEE  (Durood)

My beloved readers, jewels of my eyes you have Inshaallah Ta’la read in our past issues the incredible virtues of reciting Salaatunnabee upon the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  and how this is about the only ‘Amal Saaleh (Virtuous deed) which we know before hand, will find full acceptance in the Majestic Court of Allaah the Most High, create love in our hearts for his Beloved  greater than the love for any other creation of Allaah , attract the Grace, Love and Mercy of Allaah  towards ourselves and closeness to his Beloved, Hadrat Muhammad  on the Day of Judgement.

Let me now offer a suggestion to you as to how you can put this knowledge into practice.

  • After every Salaat, you can recite the Durood Uwaisiah printed at the end of this publication at least 11 times. After Fajr and ‘Ishaa salaats recite this Durood more generously, 100 times 300 times or more.
  • For those of you fortunate ones who feel strongly in your hearts to attain greater closeness to the Beloved of Allah  and wish to recite thousands of Duroods upon him daily, may just recite the Durood .

Aulia (Saints) of Allah including our Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat Ali Mudda Zilluhu, have been known to recite short Duroods more than 100,000 times daily. You can fix a quantity, which you feel you may have constancy upon and do it regularly and Inshaallah never give it up.

  • Shaikhud Dalaail Sayyad ‘ Ali Bin Yousaf Madanee (Rahmatullah ‘Alaih) has reported from Hadrat Jalaaluddin

Suyootee (Rahmatullah ‘Alaih) that reciting the following Durood once, we receive thawaab (rewards) of reciting 600,000 Duroods. In another narration it is mentioned that reciting the following Durood 1000 times daily makes one receive great benefits in both the worlds. This wonderful Durood is therefore called Salaatul Sa’aadat (Durood of Good fortune) (Dalaailul Khairaat).

Transliteration: Allahumma Salli ‘Alaa Sayyadina Wa Maulaanaa Muhammadin ‘Adada Maa Fee ‘Ilmillaahi Salaatan Daaimatan Bidawaami Mulkillaah.

Translation: Dearest Allaah, please bestow peace upon our Master and the most respected Muhammad in numbers that are in Your knowledge, peace that is everlasting in Your Kingdom which is forever.

  • Hadrat Ibn ‘Abbaas  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  said: The one who recites:

the thawaab (reward) for it keeps 70 angels busy for 1000 days (writing the thawaab).

(Riwaah At Tabraani, At Targheeb Wa Tarteeb)

Transliteration: Jazallaahu ‘Annaa (Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa) Muhammadan (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) Maa Huwa Ahluhu.

Translation: Allaah’s rewards be given to (Our Master and the Most Respected) Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) according to what he deserves.

  • It is mentioned by scholars that whoever recites the following Durood Shareef every Friday night (the night between Thursday & Friday) regularly at least once, he will see the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  at the time of his death and also when his body is being lowered into the grave by the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  with his own blessed hands :~

Transliteration: Allaahumma Salli Wa Sallim Wa Baarik ‘Alaa Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaana Muhammadi nin Nabbiyyil Ummiyyil Habeebil ‘Aalil Qadril Azeemil Jaahi Wa ‘Ala Aalihee Wa Sahbihee Wa Sallim.

Translation: Dearest Allaah please bestow your peace and blessings upon our Master and the Most respected unlettered Prophet Muhammad , Your Beloved, the Highest in respect, the Greatest in station and peace upon his progeny and companions. (Afdalus Salaat ‘Alaa Sayyadus Saadaat).

My dearest soul mates, the virtues of the above 3 Duroods are so many that I humbly suggest they may also be included in your daily recitation of the Duroods. I repeat once again that their greatest virtue lies in their becoming your perpetual companions for your entire lifetime. May Allaah  open your hearts to the greatness of this ‘Ibaadah. May you never stop, ever, practicing this virtuous deed till your last breaths. May Allaah  make your sojourn in this world full of His blessings and the Hereafter in closeness to His Beloved Hadrat Muhammad , because of your attraction to and perpetual recitation of the Salaatunnabi  Ameen, Ameen again.

There are literally hundreds of Duroods available to us. Reproducing them is beyond the scope of “Virtues of Islamic

Life”. We shall Inshaallah Ta’la include some more Ahadeeth on this subject as well as some selected moving stories of incredible blessings showered upon those who engaged themselves in this virtuous occupation, in our next issue.

VIRTUES OF INFAAQ FEE SABEELILLAAH (CHARITY IN THE PATH OF ALLAAH)

Allaah  has mentioned in the Holy Quraanul Majeed:

  • “And you people should spend in the path of Allaah  and do not destroy yourself with your own hands (by not doing this)” Soorah 2, Aayah 195
  • “O you who believe spend (In charity) from what We have provided you, before the arrival of that Day on which there will be no buying or selling, no friendship and no intercession (without Allaah’s permission)” Soorah 2, part of Aayah 54
  • “Those who spend their wealth during the night and during the day (Always: day and night) unknown (to others) and openly, will receive their reward from their Lord, neither will they have fear nor will they feel sadness.”

(Soorah 2 Aayah 274)

  • “Allaah will destroy interest (remove all blessings) and increase (Give blessing, barakah) charity.” (Soorah 2 part of Verse 276)
  • “You will never attain perfection in goodness till you spend (Give in the way of Allaah ) what you love.”

(Soorah 3, part of Aayah 92)

  • “And whatever you spend (in the way of Allaah ) Allaah will give a return; and He is the best of Providers.” (Soorah 34 Aayah 39)

This subject is really the heart of Islaam and brings to light the shining trait of all the magnificent traits of the perfect character of the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad . He  said according to the narration of Hadrat Aboo Hurairah : If I had with me gold equal to the mount of Uhad, I would not like it if 3 days passed by and some of it would be left out of it with me except just enough to pay my debt. (Bukhaari, Mishkaat Shareef)

Hadrat Aayishah Siddeeqah  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  when he went behind the curtain, left neither dinaar, nor a dirham (a dollar or a penny) nor a sheep, nor a camel nor left any will. (Muslim, Mishkaat Shareef)

Hadrat ‘Alee Karramallaah Wajh narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  has said: Hasten towards giving charity because misfortunes cannot cross over your charity (to reach you). (Mishkaat Shareef)

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad  has said: Allaah Ta’alaa proclaims, O son of Aadam  spend and I will also spend upon you, Allaah’s Hand is full,(even) giving night and day does not reduce (what is in His Hand) (Muslim)

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  narrates that the Beloved of Allaah , said: Everyday in the morning 2 angels descend (from the Heavens). One makes D’uaa: O Allaah reward the one who is giving (in charity). The 2nd angel makes D’uaa: O Allaah destroy the wealth of the miser. (Bukhaaree, Muslim, Mishkaat Shareef)

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  narrates that (one day) the Beloved of Allaah Hadrat Muhammad  went to (the house of) Hadrat Bilaal and there was a heap of dates there. He  asked; “Bilaal, what is this?” Hadrat Bilaal submitted “this is what I have collected for tomorrow.” Hadrat Muhammad  said: Are you not afraid that this will burn in the fire of Hell on the Day of Judgement? Bilaal, give it away and do not have fear of poverty and being needy in the Presence of The Owner of The Mighty Throne. (Baihaqee, Mishkaat Shareef)

GOOD NEWS – – – GOOD NEWS – – – GOOD NEWS
My most beloved readers, gems of my eyes; Allaah  by His Grace because of the D’uaas of our Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘All Mudda Zilluhu and your D’uaas is expanding the work of Daar-ul-Ehsaan very rapidly.
This month we are mailing approximately 13,000 “Virtues of Islaamic Life,” up from 9,000, and the demand keeps growing Alhamdulillaah. Up until now only a few selected brothers from Daar-ul-Ehsaan were deriving the full benefits of the rewards from their contributions, from Allaah Ar-Raheem. Knowing how eager many of you who Allaah, Ta’alaa Al Kareem has bestowed generously from His wealth are to also, join these fortunate contributors, we have decided to expand this base so that you may also contribute generously and regularly, and reap the rewards, which are multiplied thousands of times, by Allaah the Most Generous of those who practice, generosity.

Another Center of Islamic Virtues has been established in Wappinger Falls, Upstate New York and one more Inshaallah Ta’ala will soon come up in Connecticut. We are now supplying books and materials for those who are hungry for Islaam, all over the USA, Fee Sabeelillaah.

Our Blessed pantry established, about 3 years ago which feeds the hungry and fulfills essential needs of the needy from all denominations, is now helping close to 60-70 families each month, Alhamdulillaah, Fee Sabeelillaah.
We have great faith in Allaah Rabbul ‘Izzah, the D’uaas of our Shaikh Mudda Zilluhu and all of you, jewels of my eyes. Join our efforts with the same faith, contribute generously my soulmates and together we shall with His Divine Grace and help, reach out into every nook and corner of the USA, with the Message of Islaam and serve Allaah by serving His creation. May Allaah Ar-Raheem move your hearts towards His Service, and thereby attract His love, Grace and Generosity here as well as in His Paradise. Ameen

VIRTUES OF SUNNAH

Jewel of my eyes, the material I have presented to you under the heading “Virtues of Infaaq Fee Sabeelillaah” (Charity in the path of Allaah ) and the boxed “Good News” is to draw your noble attention to one of the most outstanding Sunnah of the beloved of Allaah Hadrat Muhammad . This is the combination of the simplicity of his lifestyle and unparalleled generosity. He  literally gave away all he received from his Lord Allaah . After the establishment of the Islaamic State in Madeenah Al Munawwarah and the conquests Allaah gave the muslims, the Beloved of Allaah , could have been the richest of all in the Arabian Peninsula. Yet the best and most perfect of all humanity  preferred to give it all away and live the life of Faqr (save nothing for the morrow).

Hadrat Anas  narrates that the beloved of Allaah  did not save anything for the next day.

(Tirmidhee Shareef)

This is the Sunnatul Maukkidah of the Beloved of Allaah .Through out his life he  never wavered from this practice.

My beloved friends, this is the life style of our Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat Ali, Mudda Zilluhu also, for the past 50 years. This way of life is also the practical application of the Hadeeth related by Hadrat Matarraf  that he heard his father say: I presented myself in the blessed presence of the Beloved of Allaah , Hadrat Muhammad . He was at the time reciting Surah At-Takaathur. He  then said “The son of Aadam  keeps saying my wealth, my wealth although the truth is O’ son of Aadam, you do not get anything from this wealth except what you have eaten (food) wore and tore and gave in charity to accumulate it in the Hereafter. (Muslim)

Please note my beloved soul mates what the Hadeeth says in other words is: what you give away in charity is your real provision for which abounding rewards are showered in the Hereafter. What is hoarded, or spent lavishly on one’s self indulgent obsessions, and left behind after we die is not considered by Allaah as our wealth at all! Moreover the Holy Quraan has repeatedly warned us, such acts would invite the wrath of Allaah and His severe punishment, So beloved jewels of my eyes, those of us who sincerely look forward to meet our Lord and Creator on the Day of Judgement should live a simple life, with the most essential inexpensive possessions and give away in the Path of Allaah  every excess that He gave us. Please remember jewels of my eyes, if the real purpose for which we were sent to this world was to accumulate possessions, we would have been allowed to take them with us when we die! We leave this world just as we came into it; with nothing! Only our deeds go up with us. May Allaah  give us the Taufeeq (put it in our hearts) to live our life like the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  and our Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu and spend lavishly on the efforts and works such as the ones undertaken by Daar-ul-Ehsaan, devoted to the service and benefit of humanity, and die leaving nothing behind of material possessions and wealth, not even a will. Ameen. Ameen again.

GETTING STUCK VERSUS ISLAAMIC DYNAMISM
The other day I read through an Islamic Monthly Publication. Most of the space was devoted to producing evidence on controversial matters such as: we must raise our hands after takbeer to do our Ruk’u & Sujood otherwise our salaat is not acceptable etc, etc. It occurred to me that 1400 years have gone by and our “learned scholars” have not yet agreed upon:~

How to do our salaat.

To say Ameen loudly or not.

Where to fold our hands in our salaat during qiaam.

To do dhikr loudly or not! etc., etc., etc., etc.

In the meanwhile muslim masses and our beloved new muslims are thoroughly confused! Our “learned scholars” are stuck and refuse to get unstuck spending enormous amount of time, money on controversial issues! Islaam’s Dynamism does not permit this legacy. These wonderful people cannot see the simple fact that they will never resolve differences of opinion which remained unresolved for 1400 years. They fail to see that we can easily find points of agreement on significant fundamental matters such as:

We must pray 5 times daily on time!

We must try & pray in congregation in Masjid!

We must recite Surah Al Faatihah in each Raka’at! etc., etc.

For every point of difference of opinion there are maybe hundreds of points of agreement. Dynamic Unity of Muslims demands that in the spirit of the Islamic love, compassion and tolerance, matters of differences of opinion should be overlooked and we must unite and move on! Differences of opinion should not be allowed to become points of conflict. We have so much to do! We must take the Da’wah and Tableeg of Deenul Islaam to every nook and corner of the USA. We in Daar -ul-Ehsaan Alhamdulillaah, are doing just that and you know something my beloved soulmates? All of you love this beneficent river of mercy forging ahead with full force of Divine help to irrigate and make fertile this great land of USA with the Blessing of Islaam without getting stagnated and stuck in mires of insignificant issues! I know all of you are with us. Allaahu Akbar.

VIRTUES OF EVERY DAY D’UAAS

  • The Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  said: When someone hears good news, he should say:

  • The Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaana Muhammad  said: When someone sees something likeable in oneself or in what one has, or in someone else or in what they have, they should make a dua for Barakah (blessings):

If a muslim does not have any thing to give away in charity, he should say this in his D’uaa:

Transliteration: “Allaahumma Salli ‘Alaa (Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa) Muhammadin ‘Abdika Wa Rasoolika Wa Salli ‘Alal Mumineena Wal Muminaati Wal Muslimeena Wal Muslimaat.”

Translation: “O Dearest Allaah, bestow blessings upon (Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa) Muhammad who is your slave and your Messenger and blessings upon true Believers who are males and true Believers who are females and upon Muslim males and females.”

There are the “Doers,”

There are the “Criticizers/Talkers” and

There are the “Spectators.”

The “Doers” have no time to Criticize/Talk.

The “Criticizers/ Talkers” have no time for doing.

The “Spectators” have no time to do either!

SOME ESSENTIAL ADVISE FROM – – – Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali, Mudda Zilluhu

Character

  • To adopt within one self, any one attribute from the character of the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaana Muhammad  is called “Khaslah” (Character).
  • Inculcate not the ability to talk but inculcate attributes.
  • Talk produces speeches and attributes produce character.
  • The descent of blessings are not dependent upon talk but upon attributes.
  • Blessings, Victory and Grace are awarded to character and not to speeches.
  • Speeches only please the audience and that is all.
  • My respected (readers) nothing is accomplished with speeches. May Allaah forgive, who can trust and what can be trusted in our talks? When we start talking we go on and on.
  • Every conceivable speech has already been made – – – if any thing is still unsaid go ahead and say it.
  • Tell me, what is achieved by any of your talks? Neither the talk is of any use nor the meeting.
  • You speak and people listen; no hopeful results have been achieved.
  • Conditions of Nations do not change because of either speeches or supra natural occurrences; but because of practical models of exemplary character.
  • My companion the word “be” of Allaah  is awaiting your (exemplary) attributes, not your talk.
  • The present times are in need of attributes not talk. This creature made out of clay attains distinction and greatness only by (exemplary) attributes and character. (to be continued Inshaallah)

VIRTUES OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF FIQH AND SHARIAH

My beloved readers, in our October issue, Volume 2 No. 6, under the above heading we presented to you the Hadeeth of the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  with regard to the 3 periods of human history which produced the 3 best peoples of all times. The best people were of the time of the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  and his wonderful companions (May Allaah  be pleased with them all). The next best were the Taba’een who saw and followed the Sahaabah (companions) (May Allaah  be pleased with them all). The third best people were the Taba’ Taba’een, those who saw, learned from and followed the Taba’een. We shall now take you back to the translation of the extracts from the great work “Manifestations of the Stages of Excellence In Worship” by our beloved, esteemed and highly revered Shaikh Hadrat Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu, about the 3 periods mentioned above.

The First Period of Fiqh

There cannot be a book in this world which contains all the laws and solutions for the present as well as future needs of the creation, except the Book of Allaah  because providing comprehensive laws of this nature is beyond the knowledge and power of human beings; it is only the All Knowing and the Omnipresent Allaah  who can do it and none other. The fact is as clear as the day light that the Kalaam (Speech) of the Most Praiseworthy, the Quraan ul Majeed is the only Book in existence whose every word is protected (from any change) from the day of its revelation till today and in it are contained Laws through which every requirement of the present and future can be easily fulfilled. Every law (of this Book) is complete and final. From the day of its revelation till now for over 1,400 years, the world has undergone thousands of changes. Unlimited number of laws of governments and kingdoms have changed and altered. The principles of The Holy Quraan, have remained unaltered. They have been sufficient and appropriate for every condition, for every country and nation. (To be continued InshaAllaah Ta’alaa)

Too many of us have no interest in Islaam.

Those of us who have some interest in Islaam too often try to fit Islaam into our lives.

Only those InshaAllaah Ta’alaa will achieve the peace, harmony, and tranquility here

and in Paradise, as promised by Allah Rabbul ‘Izzah, who work hard

to fit all of themselves into all of Islaam.

VIRTUES OF PURIFICATION (Tazkiatun Nafs) Continued

In this month’s publication we have addressed issues of Islaamic Charity in some detail so that there is now less room for the above subject. In keeping however with my intention of presenting to my beloved readers jewels of my eyes, some practical steps in accordance with the Quraan and Sunnah towards Jihaadul Akbar which is the struggle with the Nafsul Ammaaraa (Ego), I will only quote one Hadeeth of the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  on this subject.

Dhikrullah, Jihaadul Akbar

Hadrat ‘Abdullah Bin ‘Umrau  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadina Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  used to say: Everything can be purified and the purification of the Quloob (Spiritual Hearts) is in the Dhikr (Remembrance) of Allaah. There is nothing so high which could give salvation from the punishment of Allaah except (His) dhikr; he  further said that not even Jihaad in the path of Allaah, when he  said, he (The Majaahid) is wounded by the sword till the sword is broken (dhikr is greater than even this). (Baihaqee)

Inshaallaah Ta’laa in our next issue, this theme will be elaborated in more depth and detail.

TRANSLATION OF THE HIGHLY ACCLAIMED BOOK IN 5 VOLUMES "MAKSHOOFAT MANAAZIL EHSAAN"

(Manifestations of The Stages of Excellence in Worship) – – – continued:

By Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat ‘Ali Mudda Zilluhu

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  said: Who among you will take these commands from me and act upon them? I respectfully submitted: I am here (I will take them and act upon them). He  took my hand (in his) and counted five things. That is, said (1) Save yourself from those things which Allaah has ordained to be Haraam. If you will save yourself from them, you will be counted among the best of worshippers. (2) The thing which Allaah  has written in your destiny be pleased with and thankful for it. If you do this you will be counted among the richest people of the world. (3) Treat your neighbor well. If you do this you will be a perfect Mumin (True Believer). (4) What you like for yourself you should like for others also. If this happens you will be a perfect muslim. (5) And do not laugh much because too much laughing deadens the heart. (Ahmad, Tirmidhee)

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  said: Allaah Ta’alaa says: Son of Aadam , make your heart peaceful and available in the best possible manner for My Worship. I will fill your heart with Ghinaa (Disinterest with the world) and plug up the holes of destitution and want. If you do not do this, I will burden your hands with (worldly) occupation and will not close the holes of your destitution and want. (Ahmad, Ibn Maajah)

Hadrat ‘Umrau Bin Maimoon Odee  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  advised a person by saying: Consider five things better before five things (1) Youth before old age (2) Good health before illness (3) Ease before poverty (4) Leisure before occupation (5) Life before death. (Tirmidhee)

Hadrat Aboo Hurairah  has narrated that the Beloved of Allaah, Sayyadinaa Wa Maulaanaa Muhammad  said: Be warned, the Dunyaa (world) is accursed and the thing which is in the world is also accursed except the Dhikrullaah (Remembrance of Allaah  ) and the thing which Allaah  likes and the knowledgeable and the student. (Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah)

Salaatunnabi (Durood) recited by
Hadrat Sayyidinaa UWAIS QARNEE
TransliterationAllaahumma Salli ‘alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammadiun Wa Aalihee Wa’itratihee be ‘Adadi Kulli Ma’ loomillaka Astaghfirullaa Halladhi La ilaahaa illaa huwal Hayyul Qayyoomu Wa Atoobu ilaih. Yaa Hayyu Yaa QayyoomTranslation

Dear Allaah, bestow Your Choicest Blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his extended family and his progeny according to the number of all things known to You. I seek the forgiveness of the One but for whom there is no God, The Truly and Perfectly Alive and The Self Sustained and I turn to Him with repentance. O The Truly and Perfectly Alive O The Self Sustained

This is the Salaatunnabi (Durood) recited by Hadrat Sayyidinaa UWAIS QARNEE, and the inherited Durood Shareef of the Honorable chain of Quadariyyah; Mujaddidiyyah; Ghafooriyyah; Raheemiyyah; Kareemiyyah and Ameeriyyah.
It is highly recommended that those who seek the love and closeness to the Beloved of Allaah, Hadrat Muhammad make it mandatory upon themselves to recite this Durood Shareef according to their capacity and the time they have available. For instance at least 11 times after each Salaat. It should be recited more frequently after Ishaa, Tahajjud and Fajr. 100,300,500 times or even more. Remember though, once the frequency is fixed, be steadfast upon it!
